Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act

The AEHP Neurodivergent Virtual Learning Platform (NVLP) operates in alignment with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), which protects the privacy of student education records.

NVLP Commitments Under FERPA

  • Protects educational records from unauthorized disclosure
  • Restricts access to authorized personnel only
  • Provides role-based data visibility, instructors, parents, and district administrators see only what they are authorized to view
  • Maintains audit logs of all data access events
  • Allows parents and districts to review educational records within the platform

Third-Party Disclosure

Student data is not disclosed to third parties except:

  • As authorized by school districts under existing data sharing agreements
  • As required by applicable law

Private Enrollment Families

Private enrollment families retain full access to their child's educational records within the platform. Parents may view learning plans, session summaries, and progress data at any time through the Family Learning View dashboard.

Access Architecture

  • All data is tenant-isolated, district and private enrollments are fully separated
  • Student records are accessible only within the same tenant organization
  • Cross-tenant access is restricted to Site Administrators for platform governance only
  • All access is logged via append-only audit records including user email and role
